The surprising success of the BBA-workshop "drinking water testing for legionella in theory and practice" held in 2019 made us believe, a follow-up event would be most welcome for an auditorium composed of technicians who have to commission legionella testing for their houses with central heating.
Corona made us cancel all dates in 2020. So, we will try to let it happen in 2021. Scheduled date is May, 20th, 2021 in the Roxy-Palace, the new head quarters of BBA. We are looking forward to welcoming you there!
Environmental professionals, building science consultants, facility and property managers, and health and safety professionals involved with Legionella issues are invited to take part in a one-day workshop being offered by BBA, the educational institution for the housing industry in Berlin-Brandenburg.
The workshop will cover the history, ecology, sampling and analysis of Legionella. Other topics that will be discussed is the legal framework concerning legionella detection and prevention within buildings in Germany as well as new recommendations issued by the UBA (federal environmental agency) for sampling and testing.Participants will learn what measures they should take to reduce legionella growth in accommodations that have been out of operation for weeks or even months to enable a safe "restart". They will also learn why the temperature regime of central hot water and heating systems is essential to control legionella growth particularly in the peripherie.
