Hygiene institute analyzes 1 million samples: 16.5% of buildings affected by Legionella, 0.3% of samples highly contaminated.

Many companies are about to undergo their third major round of routine drinking water testing for Legionella in their building stock. As in previous intervals, the conditions have once again changed. Therefore, on June 6, 2019, the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Housing Economy (BBA) will host a seminar in Berlin that provides training on new and current regulations and requirements of the Drinking Water Ordinance. A special highlight of the event is the live demonstration of a Legionella analysis in the laboratory at the end of the seminar.

On Friday, September 20th, 2019, the 125th anniversary of the institute for hygiene and public health (ihph) was celebrated in the university club Bonn. All speeches were held not only by excellent experts of medicine and hygiene but by extraordinary capacities in public health research and science. The specialists all agreed in one point: to meet future challenges it will not be enough to gather and apply expert know-how, it needs meta competence as a key factor for every expert to attain good results in the tasks the "global village" presents. Honored was Prof. Dr. med Martin Exner who has presided the institute for more than 25 years for his outstanding achievements in the public health sector - not only in Germany but worldwide.

On September 16th, WATERcontrol turned 10 years old, and it had to be celebrated. First, on the anniversary itself, during the annual barbecue event - this time with a surprise visit and a surprise gift. And the next day, at Lake Maschsee: daytime conference at the Courtyard Hotel, followed by a 3-course banquet dinner at Restaurant Pier 51 - overlooking the setting evening sun.
